Christopher Eccleston Might Be Back For 2013

In the interview below, Christopher Eccleston seems to hint that he's going to be involved in the 50th Anniversary celebrations. David Tennant has also recently suggested that he's been involved in preparations for next year.

Eccleston has previously said that he was not interested in returning to the role of the Doctor, but something appears to have changed his mind. I personally think that any special next November would not be complete without at least Smith, Tennant, and Eccleston. I would also like McGann and at least one other Classic Series Doctor to return, but I think there shouldn't be too many characters, in order to not dilute the amount of screen-time each receives.

Synopsis for The Snowmen

The official synopsis for the Christmas Special has been released:
Christmas Eve 1892 and the falling snow is the stuff of fairy-tales. When the fairy-tale becomes a nightmare and a chilling menace threatens Earth, an unorthodox young governess, Clara, calls on the Doctor for help. But the Doctor is in mourning, reclusive and determined not to engage in the problems of the universe. As old friends return, will the Doctor really abandon humankind or will he fight to save the world – and Christmas – from the icy clutches of this mysterious menace.
The episode is due to air at 9pm EST on BBC America & Space. Still no official time for BBC One.

Poster Art For The Snowmen

Looks like the tradition of movie-style poster art that started earlier this season is going to continue.

Doctor Who's 49th Anniversary

Doctor Who is 49 years old today. On November 23rd, 1963 the very first episode, An Unearthly Child, aired on BBC at 5:15pm GMT. The broadcast was slightly delayed by news about President Kennedy's assassination the day before, but aired nevertheless.

Little did the producers realize that show about an old man in a police box would go on to last for almost fifty years. Eleven faces, dozens of companions, and hundreds of episodes later, the show is still going strong. Here's hoping it will last many more.

Neil Gaiman's Episode Will Feature the Cybermen

The BBC have officially announced that Neil Gaiman's episode (the penultimate one for Series 7) will feature the Cybermen. The episode's title is supposedly "_ _ _   _ _ _ _    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _", which looks suspiciously like "The _ _ _ _ Cybermen".

They have also confirmed that the episode will co-star Tamzin Outhwaite, Warwick Davis, and Jason Watkins.

UPDATE: According to a leaked picture of the script, the title of the episode is "The Last Cyberman". It also appears that the Cybermen will be sporting a redesign, a sort of mix of modern Cybermen, Tomb of the Cybermen Cybermen, and the modern Sontarans. Also, Clara takes them on with a mace.
