Synopsis
"Dr John Watson, meet Mr Sherlock Holmes.”

Mrs Ricoletti's ghost now appears to be prowling the streets with an unslakeable thirst for revenge. Agent Carter Season 2 Synopsis 2

ABC has released a second, longer, synopsis for the upcoming season of Agent Carter. Note that this one is slightly spoilery.
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a dynamic second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve).

Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Agent Peggy Carter journeys from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous – and bizarre – assignment yet. East Coast SSR Chief Jack Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) sends Peggy to work with newly appointed West Coast SSR Chief Daniel Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) to explore a strange homicide involving a body that glows and emanates cold.

Upon her arrival, Peggy reunites with Howard Stark’s (Dominic Cooper) butler and her loyal partner-in-crime, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy), who welcomes her to the Hollywood life and sets her up at Stark’s mansion. There, Peggy meets Ana (Lotte Verbeek), Jarvis’ free-spirited and devoted wife to whom she takes an immediate liking.

Eventually, the odd investigation leads Peggy to quirky yet charming scientist Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin), who quickly becomes an ally — and sparks fly. As Peggy continues to find clues in this peculiar case, she is introduced to the machinations of Whitney Frost (Wynn Everett), a movie starlet, brilliant physicist and the true power behind husband and senatorial candidate Calvin Chadwick (Currie Graham). Calvin, a politician who will do anything to get to the top, befriends Vernon Masters (Kurtwood Smith), a veteran of the War Department with a keen understanding of how to work the system. Peggy soon discovers that corruption seemingly runs deep, making it hard to distinguish the good versus the bad.

The search comes full circle when Russian spy Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan) returns into Peggy’s life in a new and unexpected way. But even as Peggy discovers a new city, both old and new friends – and potentially a new love – she’s about to learn the bright lights of post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Agent Peggy Carter, James D’Arcy (“Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”) as Edwin Jarvis, Enver Gjokaj (“Dollhouse”) as Chief Daniel Sousa, Wynn Everett (“The Newsroom,” “Charlie Wilson’s War”) as Whitney Frost, Reggie Austin (“Life Unexpected,” “Devious Maids”) as Jason Wilkes, and Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill,” “A Cinderella Story”) as Chief Jack Thompson.

Tara Butters (“Resurrection”), Michele Fazekas (“Resurrection”), Christopher Markus (Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), Stephen McFeely (Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), Chris Dingess (“Men in Trees”), Kevin Feige (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”), Louis D’Esposito (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Marvel’s Iron Man 3”), Alan Fine (“Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Marvel’s Thor”), Joe Quesada (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Stan Lee (“Spider-Man,” “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk”) and Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Marvel’s Daredevil”) are executive producers. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Daredevil Season 2 Promo Pics

Entertainment Weekly has released a couple images from the second season of Daredevil. They also had a quote from Punisher actor John Bernthal,
People have been coming up to me on the streets of New York saying, ‘Do not mess this up.' This character has resonated with law enforcement and military. He’s brought the war home with him in the worst possible way. And the best thing about him is that if he offends you, he just doesn’t care.

Doctor Strange Casting Details & Photos

Entertainment Weekly has revealed info on some of the characters in November's Doctor Strange film. Kevin Feige described Rachel McAdams' character as
a fellow surgeon that has a history with Strange and is his sort of lynchpin to his old life, once he steps into he role of a sorcerer. She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity.
Mads Mikkelson will be playing the villain of the movie, about whom Feige said
We will take audiences through sort of a guide to the multiverse, other dimensions, and there are amazing things out there — wonders that are going to be hopefully visually extremely interesting and unique to this movie. But there are also very scary things in these other dimensions. Mads’ character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect. [He] believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through.
They also released five new photos (in addition to the picture seen here).

Angie to Return to Agent Carter

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Angie Martinelli will indeed be returning to Agent Carter this season. Apparently episode 2x09 will open with Peggy having a dream that features a Broadway-style musical dance number that Angie is part of. The routine will be coordinated by the producers of Dancing With the Stars. Producer Michell Fazekas commented,
She’s your conscience and she’s speaking the things that Peggy maybe can’t say to herself. It ties things back together from the first season and it’s connecting all of these things in a way that only a dream can do.

Jessica Jones Season 1 Review

I was under the impression that Patsy was going to be the vigilante, Hellcat, in this season. Instead, it seems she's more of a vigilante in training. She's got the safe room and high security in her apartment and she's taking Krav Maga lessons. I think I missed the explanation of why she's so paranoid about home security. On the other hand, in the age of supervillains and aliens, this may be more normal. I was actually hoping that the medicine the EMT gave Patsy to bring her down from the stimulant would only allow her to breath again and leave her with permanently increased stamina. That doesn't appear to be the case later on, but it would be a good explanation of superpowers. However, it's possible that even if that were the case, her body would just metabolize the drug and leave her in a normal state after a few hours.

For a while while I was watching this, I was under the impression that Daredevil was going to show up in the final episode. I remembered reading rumors a few weeks ago that he was going to show up sometime during the series. However, I couldn't remember whether those rumors were confirmed or denied. The synopsis for the last episode did seem to imply that he was going to show up, but it apparently referred to Claire Temple. I knew she was going to show up, but by about episode six or so, I figured it was just a bit part in a hospital scene and that I had probably missed it already. I now remember that somebody said she was going act similarly to Nick Fury and bring all the Defenders together. By the end of this season, she knows about three out of the four team members, so that could certainly happen.

In the comics, Kilgrave is actually purple, while in the show he simply wears purple outfits. I suppose a supervillain can't go around being so obviously a supervillain. Somebody like SHIELD would have noticed if that were the case. I thought that after the scene where his dad ramps up his powers, Kilgrave would permanently turn purple. When he was injected with more of the virus, his veins did temporarily change color, but I guess the rest of him didn't.

I feel like Jessica Drew (aka Spider-Woman)'s origin story could tie into Kilgrave's. I don't know much about her, but apparently she also underwent medical experimentation as a child to save her life. They could easily tie that into the same viral treatment as Killgrave, only instead the virus added in spider DNA. I'm kinda hoping to see her in the Captain Marvel movie, but they could bring her in early by having Luke dig around on that flash drive and try to find other powered people. I don't think Luke would really create a team of enhanced people, since he just wants a quiet life, but the writers could at least tease Spider-Woman.

I was kinda hoping for more flashbacks into Jessica's life pre-Killgrave. We only got the briefest mention of the Jewel codename and the costume and it mostly consisted of Jessica rejecting it for sounding too much like a stripper name. I almost want to see a super-powered teen drama set in the MCU, but I'm not sure how well that would go over. The IGH connection between the combat drugs and Jessica's powers seems interesting. That truck was probably carrying some sort of early prototype of the drug in liquid or powdered form that got into Jessica's mouth and cuts after the accident. I would not be surprised if IGH, the army, SHIELD, or Hydra took some sort of blood samples from Jessica and then stalked her to see how her powers manifested. If it's SHIELD or Hydra, they probably installed hidden cameras in her house or brainwashed her foster mom into reporting on her. This definitely seems like it could be part of the story arc for season 2, especially with Patsy digging into the research at the end of the finale.

The Husbands of River Song Interview Pack

The BBC has released interviews with Peter Capaldi, Alex Kingston, and Steven Moffat for the upcoming Christmas Special.

Peter Capaldi
What can you tell us about the Doctor Who Christmas special this year?
Well the Christmas special is very Christmassy, which I’m sure everyone will be relieved to hear. It finds the Doctor in a Dickensian kind of world, in a Christmas card sort of world which he’s been brought to in order to do a favour for a king. So there’s quite a festive spirit to the episode. But the favour is more complex and isn’t exclusively for the benefit of the king, but more for the benefit of the king’s consort.

What is your favourite scene from this episode?
I have lots of favourite scenes from the Christmas episode, but I think being met by Matt Lucas on a wonderful wintery Dickensian street with the TARDIS covered in snow was delightful, because it was like a Doctor Who Christmas card. Matt is such a fabulously funny person to have around, so I loved that!

Do you like filming Christmas episodes?
Yes I do like them - last year’s was a bit scarier than this one, this is more openly festive. I like the idea of ghost stories at Christmas and frightening things seem to work rather well in the festive environment.

Would you like to see River Song return?
Yes of course, because Alex is fabulous and it’s always lovely to work with her.

Who is Nardole?
The character of Nardole is played by Matt Lucas so you can expect a lot of laughs and pathos. He is, as ever, a hugely loveable personality, a little naïve, a little out of his depth and quite cosmic.
Alex Kingston
What was it like to come back?
I was quite surprised when I was asked to come back, but I was happy to because I just thought it would be great fun. It’s such a great character, she’s become so beloved by lots of fans and I’ve had them saying it would be so great for her to come back and to see her interacting with Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. I was actually thrilled when Steven decided he wanted to explore that too.

What did you think of the script?
It’s a wonderful slapstick caper. There’s a lot of great laughs, there’s a lot of fabulous River one-liners. The fans are going to love the things she says and there’s a lot of play. They’re also fighting a very interesting alien played by Greg Davies. It’s a really great episode and Steven has done my character proud.

Has this episode been challenging?
I’ve been really lucky in this episode as River gets to do an awful lot. She gets to run around in snow, I’ve been flying and have done harness work against a green screen. She’s got quite a few husbands in this episode and there’s a lot of fabulous quick-fire dialogue between her and the Doctor. She gets to snog the most handsome man in the work, his character name is Ramone. It’s all going on!

What were your favourite moments during filming?
The favourite moment so far for me was stepping back on to the TARDIS, because the interior of it has changed yet again. I’ve been on two different TARDIS incarnations, and to walk into this one and know it’s a familiar space but at the same time it’s different, was great. I love this one - everything works which is really fun, I stand there pressing all the buttons, it’s great!
Steven Moffat
Can you give us an introduction to the episode you’ve written this year?
The Doctor is an all new man and has been for a while. It may have slipped his mind that out there, in a very tangled and complicated way, is his wife that has never seen this face before and doesn’t even know about this incarnation. We’re about to stand with the Doctor and see what River is like when she doesn’t know he’s looking. We’re about to see what River thinks of Matt Smith turning into Peter Capaldi.

What made you want to write this episode?
River Song meets the Capaldi Doctor, that’s got to be fun - I’d like to write that. That’s what made me want to write. I knew it had to be a big romp for Christmas day and there’s nothing like River Song to make that evident - River brings a whole storm of camp glamour to it.

Is it any different writing a Christmas episode of Doctor Who?
Yes, you need to have a bit of Christmas in it, but that’s never felt to me like a tremendous impediment, it’s a hook to hang it on. Sometimes we go very Christmassy - ‘A Christmas Carol’ was incredibly Christmassy, so was ‘The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe’ and ‘The Snowmen’ had the appearance of Christmas without being very Christmassy. Last Christmas is actually the least Christmassy episode we’ve ever done, except for the fact it actually had Santa Claus in it - I rather loved last Christmas. This year’s episode starts Christmassy and has a comedy romp!

Do you enjoy writing a Christmas episode?
I like Christmas specials - I know some people don’t. Some friends of mine don’t like Christmas specials very much and they’re always complaining about all the tinsel, the goodwill and the twinkly stars, and the lovely snow on the rooftops. I love all that, I love Christmas as a day and as a festival. I love that it’s dark, twinkly and rich red, all those things I adore so it’s no hardship for me at all.

Who is King Hydroflax?
King Hydroflax is a very bad King, who as it turns out is mostly cyborg - in fact only his head has remained. He’s a vicious, terrible and deeply stupid man and a dreadful tyrant.

Scott Buck to Run Iron Fist

Marvel has announced that they've hired Scott Buck (Dexter) to be showrunner of the upcoming Iron Fist Netflix show. Marvel head of television Jeph Loeb said,
Scott came in with a take on Iron Fist that quite simply knocked us off our feet. We always look for the most creative minds in the field to help us bring our heroes to life, and with Scott we’ve found someone that can deliver yet another great series in the ongoing story of The Defenders.
Buck commented,
I’ve always been drawn to writing complex, intriguing characters, and that’s what most excites me about the opportunity to bring Danny Rand and “Iron Fist” to life with Marvel on Netflix.
Marvel has also given a synopsis of the Iron Fist show.
Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.
They haven't announced any of the other producers, writers, or directors and there is still no cast or premiere date (not even something as vague as a year).
