New York Comic Con has announced they will be holding a panel featuring the stars of Elementary. The panel will take place Friday at 1:00 in the Hammerstein Ballroom and will feature Jonny Lee Miller, Lucy Liu, Nelsan Ellis, and Rob Doherty. A new episode will be screened at the beginning of the panel. Unfortunately, Friday tickets for the convention are completely sold out at this point. They do not appear to be doing photo ops.

Hannibal Buress Spider-Man Role Revealed
Earlier this year, I reported that Hannibal Buress had a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Well, now the actor has revealed that he will be playing Peter Parker's gym teacher in the movie.
In Spider-Man, I play a gym teacher. I play one of the dumba** characters that don't realize he's Spider-Man.

Power of the Daleks Getting Animated
Patrick's Troughton's first Doctor Who story, Power of the Daleks, is getting an animated release. Power is one of several stories that were recorded over or sold in the 1970s when the BBC's warehouse filled up. All six episodes of the serial (which aired in fall 1966) are currently missing except for a few short clips and the audio.
UPDATE: According to one source, this is just a rumor

Deathstroke Will Be the Villain in Batman Solo Movie
According to a report from the Wrap, Deathstroke (aka Slade Wilson) will be the villain of the upcoming Batman movie. This is seemingly confirmed by two things. First, Marc Guggenheim confirmed earlier this year that the character is being used by a non-Arrow DC project. Second, earlier this morning, Ben Affleck posted a mysterious shot of Deathstroke on his social media accounts.

Star Trek: Discovery Tidbits
Bryan Fuller has released a few details of the new Star Trek series in a recent interview. Fuller will write the first episode with help from Alex Kurtzman and run the show alongside Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts. Nicholas Meyer, Jesse Alexander, and Kemp Powers will all write for the show. Meyer will write the second episode. Fuller also revealed the main character's nickname is Number One. I'm taking this as a sign that she's the ship's first officer.
UPDATE: Apparently the lead will be referred to exclusively as Number One until we learn her name in an episode.

Captain America: Civil War Gag Reel
Marvel has released a minute-long blooper video from the new Captain America version. I suspect the copy on Blu-ray will be slightly longer.
Scott Neustadter & Michael Weber Writing New Mutants
To be honest, when I saw a headline that said "Fault in Our Stars Writers Writing New Muants," I assumed they were talking about John Green. Anyway, Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber will be writing The New Mutants movie, directed by Josh Boone. The movie does not currently have a release date or cast (I think Maisie Williams is just a rumor).

Legion Part of X-Men Movieverse
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Bryan Singer confirmed that the Legion television series is part of the X-Men movie universe. That means I actually have to blog about it now. Great.
...part of the X-Men universe, but when you watched it, you wouldn't have to label it, it could exist completely on its own.

Dan Harmon Writing Dr. Strange Reshoots
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has brought on Community producer Dan Harmon to write some extra scenes for the Doctor Strange movie. I'm not sure if the scenes have been shot/written yet. If they haven't, it's getting pretty late as the film is releasing in little more than two months.

Doug Liman to Direct Dark Universe
Warner Bros has attached director Doug Liman to the live-action Justice League Dark movie (now titled Dark Universe). The film has been in development for some time, with Guillermo del Toro the original director. It has an ensemble cast including John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon. This pulls Liman off the long-delayed Gambit film from Fox. Note that there is also an animated film titled Justice League Dark in development as well.
