Superman Prequel Series Metropolis Coming to DC Streaming

DC has announced that a new live-action Superman prequel titled Metropolis will debut weekly on their currently-unlaunched streaming platform next year. The thirteen episode series (which has already received a full production order) will be produced by Gotham producers John Stephens and Danny Cannon. It is described as follows,

Metropolis will follow Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets. Airing exclusively on DC’s upcoming digital service, it promises to show us a wondrous and awe-inspiring City of Tomorrow, before the emergence of Superman, and establish much of the Man of Steel’s world leading up to his arrival.

The first episode will be directed by Cannon and written by both of them. No cast members have been announced yet.
