Moffat Announces The Thirteen Doctors

Speaking in a recent interview, Steven Moffat has announced that the 50th anniversary special will feature every Doctor, all thirteen of them.

We're not just doing one anniversary special, we're doing about four of them. We've got An Adventure in Space and Time, The Thirteen Doctors, the Christmas special, and one in July. We've hired a lovely lady to play the twelfth Doctor, Michelle Ryan, I think you'll remember her as Lady Christina de Souza.

Apparently, Matt Smith will regenerate sometime in the Series 7 finale (which still has no name) then reappear in November. Michelle will get the short end of the straw, with only a single full episode to herself, regenerating in November, apparently calling in all her previous selves for some kind of epic battle.

There's still no word on who will play the thirteenth Doctor, so we can only speculate.

Filming on the July special will begin next week, with filming for November beginning immediately afterward. They'll then break so Matt can go to Hollywood, then come back in September for the Christmas Special.
