Clara wants to see something amazing, so the Doctor takes her to the rings of the planet Akhaten to see the Festival of Offerings. They somehow get caught up in events involving little girl Merri (possibly Merry), Queen of Years. Not entirely sure, but it seems like she's supposed to be sacrificed, but doesn't want to be. Something along those lines, she doesn't want to participate in the ceremony and the Doctor and Clara help her.
<mega spoilers>The Doctor meets what appears to be a younger version of Clara (younger than what we saw in the prequel, unless that's Clara 4 or this is) and her parents. There's a bit with the book, 101 Places to See, and a bit where Clara's parents look very concerned.</mega spoilers>
