Star Wars has surpassed James Bond as the third highest-grossing film franchise in history. This puts it behind only Harry Potter and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Marvel pumping out three movies a year for the next few years, it's likely to keep the top spot. Star Wars will put out two more films before the Fantastic Beasts sequel, which should allow it to claim number two.
