Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 Review

So I totally missed the Miley Cyrus cameo. The article I read said her character was watching a recording 1,000 years in the future, that's not entirely accurate. Her character is from the 31st century in the comics, but not in the movie.

What is a Zune? I'm guessing there's supposed to be some joke about them being really popular before getting overtaken by the iPod. But I have only a vague recollection of them, so I'm not sure.

97% of the plot of this movie could have been avoided if the team had the decency to just return the batteries. Maybe, I suppose Ego would have found Peter eventually.

What exactly was Ego expecting when he told Peter he killed his mom? Was he somehow expecting Peter to be cool with it? I love how Peter just straight up starts shooting him without hesitation.

I love how they confirmed the fan theory about Stan Lee being Oatu the Watcher. Kevin Feige confirmed it in an interview, but I didn't realize it was actually a scene in the movie. Apparently the FedEx bit was a continuity error because it hadn't happened yet.

Were we supposed to know Ego was the main villain? For some reason, I thought it would be the Sovereign. Now I can't remember if I misread an article or if they were being deliberately vague about that aspect of the film.

So with all this talk about David Hasselhoff, I actually got confused about who was playing Ego. I remembered seeing something about him having a role in the movie and my mind just drew a total blank. It didn't help that Ego briefly shapeshifted into him. Or at least I assume that was David Hasselhoff.

The end credits sequence was probably the best of any Marvel movie. Still not as good as Ghostbusters (2016).

I feel like this movie was strangely dirty for a Marvel movie. There's definitely a greater than usual number of sex jokes and I'm not sure why that was allowed. It's acceptable under PG-13, but MCU films are generally pretty clean.

Also, this is a shit review because I waited too long to finish it.
