Batwoman Series in Development at The CW

Multiple news outlets are reporting that The CW is developing a Batwoman series to spin-off from this year's Arrowverse crossover. The series will be executive produced by Caroline Dries, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter and star an as-yet-unspecified actress in the lead role of Kate Kane. The series is described as,

Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet: in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.

If the series is picked up, it will likely air sometime next year.
