Luke Cage Canceled

Netflix has pulled the plug on any future seasons of Marvel's Luke Cage. A writer's room had been in place for some time planning the third season pending a formal renewal. However, issues with the scripts and negotiations between Marvel and Netflix regarding a reduction in the number of episodes (from 13 to 10) came to a head this week. A statement from the two companies reads,

Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.
