Logan Ending Teased in The Wolverine

Director James Mang0ld has confirmed that he foreshadowed Logan's ending in the 2013 Wolverine movie. In that movie, a woman who can see the future tells Logan "I see you on your back, there's blood everywhere. You're holding your own heart in your hand." By heart, she's apparently referring to his daughter, Laura.

Patrick Stewart Retires from Professor X

Despite seemingly wanting to keep the door open recently, Sir Patrick Stewart has formally announced his retirement from the X-Men franchise. Speaking at a SiriusXM Town Hall, Stewart said
A week ago, Friday night in Berlin, the three of us sat, watching the movie and I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it. Maybe it was the company of these two guys, but the movie ended and — this is an admission — but at one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go [mimes wiping a tear from his eye] like this, and then I realized I had just done the same thing. Then, the movie ended… and we were going to be taken up on stage, but not until the credits were over. So, we had some time to sit there and, as I sat there I realized there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.'

Logan Clip 3

This may be a tad bit out of context for those not familiar with Laura's origin story. She's basically a clone of Wolverine created in a lab.

Logan Synopsis & Runtime

The Berlin International Film Festival has posted the runtime and a new synopsis for Logan on their website. The description for the 135-minute film reads
In 2024 the mutant population has shrunk significantly and the X-Men have disbanded. Logan, whose power to self-heal is dwindling, has surrendered himself to alcohol and now earns a living as a chauffeur. He takes care of the ailing old Professor X whom he keeps hidden away. One day, a female stranger asks Logan to drive a girl named Laura to the Canadian border. At first he refuses, but the Professor has been waiting for a long time for her to appear. Laura possesses an extraordinary fighting prowess and is in many ways like Wolverine. She is pursued by sinister figures working for a powerful corporation; this is because her DNA contains the secret that connects her to Logan. A relentless pursuit begins … In this third cinematic outing featuring the Marvel comic book character Wolverine we see the superheroes beset by everyday problems. They are ageing, ailing and struggling to survive financially. A decrepit Logan is forced to ask himself if he can or even wants to put his remaining powers to good use. It would appear that in the near-future, the times in which they were able put the world to rights with razor sharp claws and telepathic powers are now over.
