David Schofield Cast in Doctor Who

Doctor Who Magazine has reported that David Schofield (Merlin, The Shadow Line) has been cast in the upcoming season of Doctor Who. Schofield will star in The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived, both of which are currently filming.

Maisie Williams Joins Doctor Who Series 9

The BBC has issued a press release stating that Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has been cast in Doctor Who series 9. She will play an unnamed character who will "challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways." They also revealed that two episodes (presumably numbers 5 and 6) will be titled The Girl Who Died by Jamie Mathieson & Steven Moffat and The Woman Who Lived by Catherine Tregenna, both directed by Ed Bazalgette. Also cast are Rufus Hound, Tom Stourton, Ariyon Bakare, Simon Lipkin, Ian Conningham, Murray McArthur, Barnaby Kay, John Voce, and Struan Rodger. Maisie commented,

I'm so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.
