50th Anniversary Collection Details

The BBC have released further details on the 50th anniversary DVD/Blu-ray set. It will be released on September 8, with 6,000 Blu-ray units and 4,000 DVDs available. Contents include

The contents of the DVD & Blu-ray release of The Day of the Doctor have been announced. They are as follows

Being the BBC and full of leaks, the 50th anniversary minisode, The Night of the Doctor, has been released early. Spoilers: apparently Paul McGann is in it.

Doctor Who Twitter Account Teases The Night of the Doctor

The official Doctor Who Twitter account has released a single tweet teasing the 50th anniversary minisode, The Night of the Doctor. It features a picture of a woman who could be a random Time Lady or could be Romana. Some reports seem to suggest she's from the Sisterhood of Karn (see The Brain of Morbius).

More Info on The Night of the Doctor

The 50th anniversary minisode (one of two), The Night of the Doctor, will be released on Red Button on November 16th. It runs for approximately seven minutes.

Synopsis

The 50th Anniversary features Matt Smith, David Tennant and a mysterious incarnation played by John Hurt. Only one appears in this mini episode, The Night of the Doctor. But which?

New 50th Minisode

In addition to their earlier release about The Day of the Doctor, the British Film Classification Board has confirmed an additional minisode. The Night of the Doctor (anyone else noticing a pattern here?) will run for 6 minutes 54 seconds and will star Matt and David. Nothing else is known at this point.
