The Things They Carried Synopsis
The CW has released the synopsis for the next episode of Supernatural, which airs March 18 and marks the show's return to Wednesdays.
COLE PAYS A VISIT TO THE WINCHESTERS — Despite Dean’s directive to forget about looking for a cure for the Mark of Cain, Sam continues to do research. Dean suspects Sam is hiding something but decides to focus on a new murder case where they run into Cole. The three team up and learn a Khan worm is infecting men and turning them into murderers. Unfortunately, the worm makes it’s way into Cole. John Badham directed this episode written by Jenny Klein (#1015). Original airdate 3/18/2015.

Girls, Girls, Girls Review
It appears that Rowena is definitely the main villain this season and not Cole. Of course, there was no way a mere human was going to be the big bad, but both villains were unresolved until this point. After this episode, Cole is probably going to stop chasing Dean. Whether he goes home to his family and stays there or becomes a hunter remains to be seen. Supernatural is full of one-off characters, so it's likely he'll never return, but not impossible. Rowena's goals as a villain don't seem to be established yet. The fact that's she's imprisoned in hell suggests the brothers won't be dealing with her for a while. In fact, now that Crowley's a series regular, Rowena may be his problem, especially considering she's his mom. However, I can't see the brothers not having some over-arcing story this season. Therefore, it's more likely that she'll pop back into their lives at some point.
I was really starting to ship Hannah/Castiel. I think Hannah leaving her vessel has more to do with feelings for Cas than the hardships they put their vessels through. If she had found a way out the situation with he vessel's husband that didn't involve kissing Cas, then she wouldn't have left. She only did it because it was awkward and she didn't want to confront her feelings for him. Also, Cas had already expressed a desire to ignore any human feelings that might come between them. So maybe she thought he didn't want romance and decided to leave before one formed.
It appears Hell's soul acquisition rate is down since Abaddon took over. Crowley did warn her that calling in contracts early would cause people to lose confidence in the market. I'm really not sure how many people would actually be aware of contracts being called in early. Even if they were, selling your soul is an act of desperation and some people might not care that they wouldn't get the full ten years out of it. There may be other factors at play as well. Abaddon may have killed a lot of demons that were loyal to Crowley, reducing their supply of souls. She may have chosen to call in contracts early in order to make up for that deficit. Now that the influx has been reduced due to a return to contract conditions, Hell may be lacking in souls.

Reichenbach Review
Looks like we're not quite done with Cole yet. I thought he'd only last a couple episodes, but it's apparent he's going to be around for at least three. Whether he stays around long enough to be the season's big bad remains to be seen. I still can't imagine that a mere human would be the main villain in a season of this show. If he is, it's possible that he's going to go to great lengths to kill Dean and end up with some supernatural object or power.
Anyone else starting to ship Hannah and Castiel? After six seasons, I've kinda given up on Destiel. This somehow seems much more likely to happen and they do seem to care for each other. I'm just not sure two angels are going to get into a romantic relationship. Castiel, maybe, but most other angels might consider that too human. However, some of these angels (including Hannah) do seem to have a cult worship thing going on with Castiel. Considering he's basically a celebrity, she might just do it.
We know it's possible to cure a demon, but what about a knight of hell? It's possible that a demon's a demon, but maybe curing Dean won't be so easy. Especially since he made it clear he didn't want to be cured. There are medical ethics to giving a person a treatment they don't want. Assuming Sam can convince Dean to let him cure him, the usual process may not work. They may have to use the demon tablet to find a way to cure Dean. The problem with that is that they don't have a prophet to read the instructions. One of the angels would have to reactivate the prophet system.
I really don't think it's a good idea to let Metatron out of his cell. Even if he keeps his promise and tells them how to get Cas' grace and leaves to another planet, he'd probably just set himself up as a god there. That seemed to be what he wanted in the first place: to be the new God. There are other ways of helping Castiel. They could reconstruct the angel tablet and use that to power him back up. Assuming they could solve the prophet problem, there might be something on the tablet that could help him.

Black Review
I wonder what Dean did to upset Cole. I'm guessing Dean killed someone he knew. Maybe Cole thought this person wasn't a monster or that there was an alternative. Either that, or he knows Dean is a dangerous hunter and thinks that as a demon he's too dangerous to live. Whatever the reason, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. There may even be a scene where Cole shoots Dean and surprised when that doesn't kill him. Finding out that's he's now a demon may enrage Cole even more. When he finds out that usual demon methods won't kill Dean, he may opt to kill all of Dean's friends instead.
So far, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a villain for this season. The only candidates we have so far are Dean and Cole. Cole could go on a mission to ruin the boys' lives, but that doesn't make for a very supernatural plot line since he's only human. If Cole were to do that, the boys could easily take him out using their skills. It may also be that there isn't a real villain in the season. The season may be spent with Sam trying to convince Dean to let him cure him and Dean deciding he's fine the way he is. Then maybe, in the finale there's some pivotal event that convinces Dean that being a knight of hell isn't all its cracked up to be.
Castiel seems to be rather worse for wear. It's unclear how much of his stolen grace is left, but it's decay seems to be manifesting in physical symptoms. I'm more concerned about why he was staying in what appears to be an ultra-cheap hotel. Isn't there a nice place up in heaven where he can stay? He certainly seems popular enough that the other angels would be willing to let him stay, even if here were only human. There's also (presumably) plenty of rooms in the bunker. There might be something on the angel tablet that could tell them how to restore his grace. Unfortunately, the only person capable of reading the tablet is Metatron (since he wrote it). They can't just use a prophet, since Metatron turned off the spell that creates new ones. Unless of course, Chuck isn't dead and is actually God.

Travis Aaron Wade Cast in Season 10
Travis Aaron Wade has been cast in the role of Cole in season 10 of Supernatural. Jeremy Carver described Cole as
someone from Dean’s past who is looking for Dean for reasons totally unrelated to what’s going on with the demon/Mark of Cain story.

Carver Reveals New Supernatural Character
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jeremy Carver has revealed that a new character called Cole will be added into the mix in season 10.
Sam isn’t the only one hunting Dean. When season 10 picks up, four to six weeks after Dean’s eyes first went black, Sam won’t be the only one looking for his brother. Cole, a new character who might not be the type of hunter you’re used to, will be joining the story—and according to Carver, his relationship with Dean could change things. “It gets very interesting in that Sam is hunting down his brother, who he eventually will discover is a demon—he doesn’t know that on the onset—and with the hopes of saving him or curing him in some way,” Carver said. “While you’ve [also] got this character of Cole, who is hunting down Dean for entirely different reasons. It’s going to cause all kinds of complications, and the character of Cole is someone who will evolve from how we see him to something very different once he finally does come face-to-face with Dean.”
