Birds of Prey Blu-Ray Release Info

DC has announced that Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) will be available on Blu-ray and DVD beginning May 12. The film can be purchased/pre-ordered here (digital copies are already available). The following special features are included

Birds of Prey Coming to Digital Next Week

Warner is going to release Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on iTunes, Amazon, and similar platforms on March 24. While no date was previously announced, this is earlier than expected, as most movies typically take 2-3 months to get released on legal streaming platforms. The decision is almost certainly due to numerous theaters closing in response to the coronavirus pandemic. There is currently no word on when the movie will be released on physical media.

Warner Pictures Skipping SDCC2019

Warner Pictures is reportedly skipping San Diego Comic Con this year. Their annual Hall H panel was expected to bring announcements/first footage from Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, Joker, and other films. Presumably, the TV side of the studio is still going (though I haven't seen a mention either way). In the meantime, though, WW84 director Patty Jenkins seemingly confirmed the trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in December and offered up this groovy new poster.

According to Deadline, Chris Messina will play serial killer Victor Zsasz, while Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau, and Matthew Willig will portray unspecified characters in DC's Birds of Prey movie. Additionally, The Wrap is reporting that Ali Wong has landed an unspecified supporting role in the film.

Warner Bros has cast Ewan McGregor in their upcoming Birds of Prey movie as villain Black Mask (aka Roman Sionis). Director Cathy Yan also confirmed earlier this week that the film is planned to be R-rated.

DC has cast Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya in their upcoming Birds of Prey film. Montoya is a detective in the Gotham police force, former girlfriend of Batwoman, and a vigilante known as The Question.

Birds of Prey Release Date

Warner Bros has announced today that the Margot Robbie-starring Birds of Prey will be released in theaters on February 7, 2020. This will mark the next live-action DC film after November 2019's Wonder Woman 1984. This film will seemingly replace the untitled DC film originally scheduled for a week later.
